Report on the Kyrgyz Republic’s participation in the 61 session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs
Since 2018, the Kyrgyz Republic has been elected as a member of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs, an important international body established to ensure implementation of the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs of 1961, the Convention on Psychotropic Substances of 1971 and the UN Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances of 1988. In this new capacity, a high-level delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic took part in the work of the 61st session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs, which was held in Vienna (Austria), from 12 to 16 March 2018. The delegates participated not only in the plenary meeting, but also in a number of other important bilateral and multilateral events held on the sidelines of the session. Considerable preparatory and organizational work has been carried out by the Kyrgyz Republic to ensure its membership in the Commission on Narcotic Drugs and decently fulfill its obligations to the world community.
